Asylum Challenge 2.0!

I've been playing The Sims 2 since I uninstalled The Sims 3 about a year or so ago, and I have to say that it is soooo much better!  I really missed it.  I will admit that there are certain things from 3 that I do miss, like the 'Hand of God' feature, the inventory system, the ability to give each sim in a household a different last name, and a few others, but all in all, those few features really can't make up for the lack of gameplay or the robotic sims.  So, I've decided to re-do the Asylum Challenge in 2, in the hopes that it will be more interesting and chaotic...aspiration failure ftw.  I created 7 sims using the randomize button...random looks, personality, aspiration, and turn-ons/offs.  And then I created my sim.  I randomized everything for her except her looks...what can I say...I like pretty sims.  I moved them on a ginormous lot and, with the help of CC, I made an awesome looking run-down old Victorian mansion.  After I completed it, though, I realized that it would look better from the outside if it had a second story...but I didn't have a good place to put stairs...so it's just for show. lol  My husband said it could be the haunted attic. :P

Just a warning...as this game is fairly old, the pictures are quite small and low-res, so please forgive that.

The money shot...

Don't ask me why I haven't posted this yet...

Well...I'm exhausted...

I'm married! lol  Sorry I haven't posted in forever, but I was spending every spare minute working on my dress, and then the wedding happened, and then the honeymoon, and then I had to go back to work...grrr...  The dress didn't turn out how I had originally expected, but I'm very happy with the final result.  I ended up not doing full Victorian underwear due to time constraints, but that kinda turned out to be a good thing because I was able to stay cinched down the whole time without getting pressure points from crinkled fabric underneath my corset.  So, no chemise, drawers, or a corset cover.  Maybe I'll make some one of these days, but for right now, I'm never sewing again. lol

Prepare for major pic spam...

Anywho, so, I believe we left off with the petticoats...

Here's the skirt untrimmed...

The main fabric is a cream coloured 100% cotton sateen, and the lining is the same cotton muslin that the petticoats are made of.  The hem is faced with the muslin and hand sewn down.  I extended the train about six inches, which was then extended a bit further by the ruffle applied later.

Ugh...

*keels over*

Ok, so a couple months ago we got a new ZM for the front end and ever since I've been scheduled like almost every day, it's freakin ridiculous!  I get that they need people and all, but I've only had more than one day off in a row once in the last two months...I'm freakin' exhausted!  So, I went and changed my availability and it dropped me down to about 3/4 the hours I have been getting lately.  I'm happy...not really looking forward to less money, but I'm definitely looking forward to more time away from that infernal place.  Also, because I've been working so much, I've barely had time to sew.  I've gotten the bustle and all of my petticoats done, but I still have the chemise, drawers, corset, corset cover, and then the dress still left to do, with only 4 months to go!!  I didn't realise just how long it would take to make three petticoats and a bustle...and they took my WHOLE BOLT of muslin!!  25 YARDS!  Sooooo many ruffles! *cries*  I also fixed the waistband on my bustle because it was way too big and wasn't strong enough to hold everything up...this weighs a ton already...

Anywho....

Here's the petticoats....

Finally!!

I finally finished my damn bustle!  It took for bloody ever, but it's finally finished!  The ruffles were a bitch and were what took me the longest, but in the end it was worth it.  Thankfully I have that ruffler foot to help me out with all the ruffles to come.  I'm going to be making two or three petticoats, and all of them will have ruffles on them...yipee.  lol  Anywho, I'm pretty excited how well it turned out.  I made the waist into a drawstring instead of a fixed waistband,  so that I can wear it at any waist size.  I'm going to be making a bustle pad as well, so my bum will be a little fuller on top in a true early bustle fashion.

Here's the link to the pattern, for those that want to know...
